Working at Laslo Custom Kitchens helped me hone my cabinetmaking skills, and also provided excellent opportunities to build cabinets for friends and family to get better at my trade and make a few bucks at the same time.
Alex Wexler is a good friend of mine that was just about to buy his first home with his soon to be wife, Tara. They found a great place, but needed to update the kitchen area to something more modern, that uses the kitchen's space more efficiently. They also wanted to get their microwave off the counters and into a cabinet, to allow for more countertop space.
The peninsula cabinet was something we added in after the initial design, but it really helped add separation to the room, and also a "buffet style" counter top to help with serving food and hosting guests. Adding the bartop below the microwave completed the look, especially once the barstools were set in place. To finish off the project I built connecting wall cabinets for the laundry room!
This was an amazing project to be part of and I learned so much through the process. I was also assisted on building and installing by my friend Brad Goldsworth. His expertise was needed on several aspects and he was there to help make this project a success!
